Megan Arlt: Applied Engineering (AES)



Applied Engineering: “the field concerned with the application of management, design, and technical skills for the design and integration of systems, the execution of new product designs, the improvement of manufacturing processes, and the management and direction of physical and/or technical functions of a firm or organization.”

…In similar terms, Applied Engineering is an interdisciplinary major, combining science and math, engineering, and business.

Interdisciplinary major: “combining or involving two or more academic disciplines or fields of study.” http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/interdisciplinary

  3. I agree! I am going into engineering and have never really understood what applied engineering was this really clears it up. It's cool that it incorporates business too.
