Sam Bryant: Prompt 2

In every major profession there are code of ethics that one follows when conducting in themselves in their profession. I came across some information I found on the National Society of Engineers webpage. After some research I found their code of ethics these are six fundamental canons or principles of engineering according to the site:
  1. Hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of the public.
  2. Perform services only in areas of their competence.
  3. Issue public statements only in an objective and truthful manner.
  4. Act for each employer or client as faithful agents or trustees.
  5. Avoid deceptive acts.
  6. Conduct themselves honorably, responsibly, ethically, and lawfully so as to enhance the honor, reputation, and usefulness of the profession.

These are common ethics you would find in most professions. Especially professions involving the public. Being an engineer you are entrusted with designing and creating present and future technology. Therefore the public an engineer serves has respects and has to trust the engineer abilities. It is evident that these ethics are followed by the state of innovations in the modern world. Personally these principles are what make engineers great and beneficial to the world.
