Prompt 7

As the concern of the climate change has grown rapidly in the last ten years more speculation was made regarding the environmental issues of using energy sources. The controversy about energy reached a whole new level with the drop of oil prices. The drop in oil prices definitely will affect the process of shifting to a clean energy source with less waste. Currently, thinking of the next generation is the priority for scientists and engineers. Since the consequences of our present choices such as using petrol for energy will have terrifying results on the future, we are forced to take responsible decisions that will reflect positively for generations to come. More debates are being held by engineers and scientists to reach a middle ground solution and here is some of the key points that were pointed out in the debates.

Nuclear energy
Renewable Energy

Pros
  • Less cost to build
  • Generates big quantities of energy
  • Creates enormous jobs opportunities
  • No greenhouse gases
  • No gas emissions
  • Stable energy prices
  • More reliable source

Cons
  • Safety issues
  • Nuclear Waste
  • Research is costly
  • Large lands required
  • Large capital cost
  • Does not generate many jobs
