Welcome to the MSU Future Engineers Blog!
Who Are We?
We are the Spartan future engineers. Engineering is a very broad field that relates not only to
engineers but also to other majors. In this blog we will introduce what is it like to be an engineer.
Also, we will point out the difficulties, challenges, and also future opportunities that might come our
way. Below is additional information about each of us:
Fiona:
To start my name is Fiona Muegge, I am a freshman at
Michigan State University. Some information about me is my
background is German and speak the language fluently. My interests include
photography, traveling, camping, playing volleyball, and spending time with
friends. I've always felt the need to want to better the environment, not only
because my birthday is Earth Day, but also because I want to make an impact on
the world. My major right now is Environmental Engineering, which I chose
because I am interested in Environmental Sciences and want to perhaps help
engineer things that will help us and the planet in the future.
Megan:
Growing up with a father who was a mechanical engineer
helped sparked my interest in engineer at a
young age but like many others, choosing a major was a long
process. I grew up in Midland, Mi, the headquarters of the 3rd largest chemical
company in the world, Dow Chemical Company. So naturally, I was drawn to
Chemical Engineering but throughout the years I drew an interest to Business
which turned me toward majoring in Applied Engineering at Michigan State University.
Whether I ended up as a Chemical Engineer or an Applied Engineer, I love
problem solving so with that I am truly excited to see what the future holds
for me as engineer.
Ibrahim:
Engineering is hard work welded with high dreams and
inspirations. Since I was a kid I always had
a keen fascination in electricity, how wires connect
and how robots move. It always ceases to amaze
me with its new innovations and its smart ways.
Saudi Arabia was an interesting place to grow up in as a young boy. Soccer was the game everyone plays in neighborhoods and soccer leagues were followed religiously. As a young boy living with 4 other brothers, our home was always filled with silly fights and crazy shenanigans. We had everything in common including our long time favorite team, Arsenal.
Sam:
I am Spartan engineer, I am from Detroit, Michigan. My major
is Engineering. I am freshmen that also attended Cass Technical High School in
midtown Detroit. While I attended Cass I participated in many different
engineering clubs throughout high school such as the Ten80 Challenge. Growing
up in the city of Detroit is what really got me interested in Engineering. I
say that because not only is Detroit known for its' auto industry but I am
currently watching the city being rebuilt and its amazing and can would be even
better to be able to contribute.
